The rationale behind the founding of The DOORS Art Foundation reflects our fundamental belief that a continued exposure of Croatian art at an international level is essential for creating an ongoing cross-cultural dialog that will generate interest in Croatia’s rich cultural heritage and in the work of contemporary and future Croatian artists. We intend to pursue the goal of introducing Croatian art and culture to American audiences through a number of specific programs that will feature literary, visual, and performance art.

We see our efforts as playing a dual role:

1.To maintain a mediating platform that will serve as a nexus trough wich individual artists, private foundations and public institutions come together with a common goal of advancing a cross-cultural dialog between Croatia and the United States.

2.To initiate programs supporting original new projects that will not only showcase this dialog, but that will themselves advance and promote new developments in art and culture.
